We stayed here for two nights in October while visiting the Charleston area. The sewer sites are fairly open with not much shade, which is great if you have satellite tv. The park was very quiet when we were there. We did manage to have some difficulty parking our tow vehicle by the site, as it was a bit short, however we managed just fine. The office staff was friendly and helpful, although the office was closed when the sign said it should be open. The laundry area was close to our site and clean and convenient. Did not use the pool, but others did. We would stay here again.

The previous reviewer stated most of what we experienced, so glad to hear that the main roads are to be paved, dodging potholes and dealing with the dust was not fun. I felt bad for campers with sites close to the road and downwind when some inconsiderate boob drives by too fast raising a cloud of dust. Paving the roads will eliminate most of that problem. Our biggest complaint was ANTS! They were like the Borg, for those who are familiar with the Star Trek series. Kill five and ten reappear..... We have never had a problem with ants in our trailer before. They were RELENTLESS. I sprayed inside and outside with bug spray and it would knock them back a bit, but they would reappear somewhere else with a vengeance. Next time I will bring some ant dust along and sprinkle some around everything that touches the ground. Once they get inside, be prepared to do battle! On the plus side, we saw 'gators galore, more birds than you can count, and enjoyed great walks on the WIDE beach, (go at low tide). On a side note, the restaurants we visited in nearby Murrells Inlet were superb, and Murrells Inlet Seafood Market had the best Tuna steaks I have ever had. Definitely worth the short drive. We would stay here again, but with "ant protection".

Very nice overnight campground off I75. Sites a bit close, but fine for a short stay. Cleanest bathrooms I've ever seen anywhere. Very friendly office staff, escorted to site. Would stay here again if in the area.

This is one of the finest RV parks we have ever stayed in. It was clean and quiet in a peaceful mountain setting, yet close to town if you felt the need to visit downtown Gatlinburg. We had the best site on the property, very private. The owners and staff were very nice and accommodating, they obviously care deeply about their campground. The property was decorated nicely for fall/Halloween. The pool heater was turned off for the season, (not surprising in the mountains in late October), but we are not pool people anyway and did not use it. The hot tub was open, though. The trolley stop is a stone's throw from the entrance, which is the ONLY way to see downtown unless you enjoy sitting in your vehicle for hours in traffic. We will definitely return if we ever come through the area again.

We stayed in the full hookup sites. They are quite large and have all the amenities including cable. However, be sure to ask for a site with hookups on the left or be prepared to bring an extra water and sewer hose and possibly an electric extension. I was able to park our trailer at an angle in such a way that we could run water and electric to the post located most inconveniently on the right side of the site. The owners really should consider modernizing their hookups to the current standard. That said, this was a very nice place to stay; the owner/manager was very nice and accommodating when we asked to stay in a our site two additional nights. The place was very quiet and peaceful. Copper Harbor is the best kept secret of the Midwest! Be sure to have dinner at Harbor Haus German restaurant in town, it was a wonderful, memorable meal. We would definitely come back to this place!

We stumbled on this place on the way back from Arkansas. Our GPS listed it as a campground possibility and we were not disappointed. The hosts were extremely friendly and helpful, and escorted us to our pull-through site. This is a terrific overnight stopover traveling up I-57. We did not use the shower/restroom facilities, but judging from the condition and maintenance of the park I would suspect they are as described in earlier posts. We will definitely stay here again!

One of the most beautiful parks we've ever stayed in. We had a Premium waterfront site in "C" area with 30 amp and water. The site was gravel and absolutely level. Ours was very wide. Some were narrow but long, with terraced areas behind the main site with a picnic table and a large area for pitching a tent or screen room. All have fire rings and grills. During the week, this place was very quiet, blue jays galore (they love peanuts) and all kinds of birds, including a pair of "panhandler" ducks. The fishing is very good. We rented a small fishing boat with motor and went out on the lake which is huge. Lots of islands and coves to explore. Restrooms/showers were spotless, although the hot water could have been warmer. All in all a bit of paradise. We will be back!

This has to be the deal of the Century! $20 per night with free wifi, free ice, showers, full hookups. A pretty decent restaurant in the main building offering a buffet nightly for $11.95. (Corky's BBQ). The bar was fun too with the usual Country Music band, but better than most. We lost a total of $4 in the casino, (I work too hard for my money to lose it to a slot machine), but the casino was interesting. The only negative was the "death ray" lighting in the RV park. It was lit up so brightly the birds were chirping at 2:00am. (of course, thats what the casino owners want: can't sleep? Might as well gamble.) Bottom line: bring something to block out the lights or be prepared to gamble the night away! We'll be back with blinders on!

Very nice park, obviously well maintained and managed. That said, they charged $39 for a one night stayover in late October. I felt this was excessive for off-season, especially since all we wanted was a place to spend the night. There was just my wife and myself, no kids. We did not even use the restroom/ shower facilities as we always use the ones in our trailer. All the amenities were not available, the pool was closed and we arrived late and left early. I could see charging that amount during the summer season, but to charge someone that amount that late in the season is unfair. We will probably not be back.

This place was great! We stayed here 5 nights in October: The weather was superb, sunny, warm every day. The owner was very friendly and helpful. Sites are good sized, very quiet, and level. Bathrooms were clean, although shower stall is small for a big guy like me. Lots of birds. The owner has a ton of bird houses throughout the property and the result is a "Florida-like" bird atmosphere. All kinds of chirping going on. Our cats were VERY interested! Cable TV is included. We will definitely be back.

We stayed here two nights in October to ride out a nor'easter that closed the Chesapeake Bay Bridge/Tunnel. We found this to be a very nice, well-managed park, very clean with a positive attitude from staff. Did not use the restrooms/showers as we use our own in the trailer. I thought the rate was reasonable; we had a regular site. The "Super sites" have cable tv. I appreciated the garbage pickup at the site; a convenience not often found in RV parks. Lots of French-Canadians around; they are very interesting to talk with if they speak English or you speak French!

We loved this park. It is an older campground, but appears to be well maintained. The owner/manager was very nice and helpful. She escorted us to our site and helped us get situated. The campground is located in a heavily wooded area, actually in a ravine. You are literally camping in a forest. The pool was closed for the season. Very convenient 1/2 mile from the Turnpike. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

This is an Army Corp of Engineers campground. It is very remote, 8 miles west of Hanover, Illinois. If you are a freight train buff, you will LOVE this place, as the trains run next to the campground. A local told us sometimes as many as 60 trains pass by here daily. It took a bit of getting used to: at night they quiet down but still average about 7 a night. By the third day, it didn't bother us much, and the quiet between trains is deafening in itself. The campground boasts 50 amp electric, but no water or sewer at site. Water is available throughout the park however. The restrooms were neat and clean, even over the Labor Day weekend. There is a boat ramp into the Mississippi backwater and I assume the fishing is good. Lots of trees, but open areas as well. Large, grassy sites are the norm, which afford some privacy. There is a well-maintained playground, and it is a very kid-friendly campground. Be sure to get a lower number site if possible, the higher number sites back up to the tracks and I guarantee you will know it when a freight rolls through. I would have given this a 9 rating even without water and sewer except for the trains. We would return however, because it was very pretty and peaceful despite the trains. Also, do NOT use Google Maps to get to this place; Google got us there the most direct route possible, but also took us down some roads that a travel trailer had no right to be on. Best way is to go through Hanover and just follow the signs.

We had stayed here back in 2004 and were pretty happy then. I understand there is a new owner and he is attempting to really fix the place up. The sites were level, they had everything we needed including wifi which was pretty fast. There were not too many staying at the park when we were there; wifi may slow down when the park is full? He is installing new lighting and signage at each site. The lighting is a bit bright; I would use 25 watt bulbs, all you need to do is light up the sign at each site. My wife raved about the washrooms, they looked adequate to me. She thought they were nicer than the ones at Topsail Hill in Florida. They were certainly clean. This is a great overnight spot along I65, nicely located as a halfway point between Illinois and Florida. You could even spend a day and go to the Jack Daniels distillery if you wanted. We will be back next year.

Add-on RV park behind a "resorty" motel. Very small sites, but a nice well-kept park with most amenities (indoor pool, mini-golf). WiFi access is open but a pretty weak signal at times in the RV park. On weekends it can be a challenge to get an IP address. On Hwy 42, with Lake Michigan across the highway. Nice views. Spectacular paved bike/hiking path along lake from Manitowoc to Two Rivers. One of our favorite WI spots. I gave this an eight because of the small sites, and you may need your leveling blocks for some of the sites along the fence.

This was our first trip to Missouri. This is actually a resort with a campground, meaning they have cabins, etc. It is located on Table Rock Lake, near Kimberling City and Branson. This was an extremely quiet place, mostly due to the fact we were only 1 of 2 campers. There is a swimming pool, (which was not open yet) and a hot tub, game room, laundry. Restrooms were clean, grounds kept up. It is about 10 miles from Branson, so you are well away from the bustle. Plus there is all of Table Rock Lake to enjoy. While the sites are not directly on the lake, the resort is, and there is a covered dock for your boat if you bring that. The owners also have guided fishing tours, although we did not do any fishing. This was strictly a "read and relax" vacation. We would stay again.

This park is located on Chincoteague Island. We have stayed here twice and just love the place. It is very quiet and shady. The owner has created a private waterfowl and animal reserve which includes all kinds of ducks, swans, peacocks, ostriches (or something similar), ponies, llamas, and deer. There are two small ponds for the ducks and you can buy feed in the store. The ponds are full of barrumphhing bullfrogs which really get going at night, much to our amusement. The restrooms/showers are pretty basic but clean. If I owned the place I would paint the showers and improve the lighting; with all the shade they are somewhat dingy. They have a great well-maintained pool and of course Assateague Island beaches are just a short drive away. There are laundry facilities also. The owner is always out working in the park, so it is actively maintained. I gave this an "8" because I think the restrooms could use some work, but it is likely that the owner just hasn't gotten to them yet. We didn't use them as we had a sewer site and used the facilities in our trailer. Bring plenty of mosquito spray; the owner has the campground sprayed daily during the summer months, but this IS Chincoteague, where the 'skeeters will eat you alive if you're not prepared.
